Reflections Sojourner:A Journey Into Modern Christianity
(c) 2016 RMHarrington
Kindle edition now available
In “Reflections of a Sojourner,” RM Harrington examines one of the greatest questions of the modern age: In this world that is filled with an abundance of medical wonders, advanced comfort technology, and a worldwide global communication resource center, from where comes a society that remains filled with perpetual suffering and pain? Why have we not resolved the ache, the needs, and the cries of a broken society?
This now available book released via Amazon Kindle offers a pondering on pain and suffering. It reflects the mind of a sojourner, a visitor to this world, a stranger in a strange land, a Christian. It ponders what a man might see if he had vision into the world of spirits and devils, if he had a better understanding of God’s eternal plan for absolute goodness among all mankind.
s a people and as a nation, Americans need change. Yet the change we seek is mired beneath the nature of human desires. Active, healthy and Godly correction requires honest and sincere labor from dedicated and involved Christians. Yet we let those who promote depravity retain the judgment over justice. Can you not see? Will you not comprehend? So long as immorality contains even a measure of financial profit, no flesh will seek to fully eliminate the cause and effect of wickedness.

A sour stench of spiritual madness draws near. Far, far below awaits a living death, a pale haze of cold-fire wherein dwells continuous pain and sorrow. Torrid currents of howling hell-winds rise from the farthest flames. The reek of scorched spirit-flesh taints the shimmering air. Faintly, I hear groaning, the cruel and dreadful gut-cries that belong, perhaps, to the angels referred to in Jude 8 wherein the author speaks of:
“…angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, and are now reserved in everlasting chains until the great day of judgment,” (Jude 8).

Why is there so much pain and suffering in a world filled with so much medicine, technology, and power?
Soon after becoming followers of Christ Jesus we discover that our cries, pleads, and warnings go unheeded even among those with the greatest need for the promise of grace and mercy. This hope for assured eternal blessings is even more so rejected by those who are prosperous, healthy and charged with daily life-inspiring energy. Sometimes those to whom we speak comprehend emptiness within self, yet they refuse to repent, acknowledge personal failings, or make change in their spiritual position before an Almighty God. Although alone and sometimes shockingly aware of their separation from God and of the certainty of gospel truth, they resist the call.
From… Reflections of a Sojourner; Seeking Truth and Needing Guidance
Why is there so much pain and suffering in a world filled with so much medical technology, power and resources?
When the lost seek truth, they often watch the lives of those who call themselves the Sons of God. They take note of our sincerity in the face of trials, of our confidence against the burdens of a fallen world, of our God-given faith in everlasting life, a faith that says God will uphold us against the uttermost of storms. And then the unbeliever abruptly senses that our hearts are secured by a supernatural force, a force which defies common reason and wisdom – this illumination, of course, pending on the truth of our own position before God.
