Contact Spiritual Leadership With Christian Character

Although the text within these pages may at times mention one church or another, Spiritual Leadership with Christian Character is not here to help church sojourners find a church home. Furthermore, I have no desire to take anything away from those of you who do have a local church family.

SLCCHOME is a way station, a resting point, a place where weary Christian church sojourners can kneel by a pool of clear and honest Christian teachings. It you need help, stop and rest a spell. If you can offer help, respond to the prayer needs or the participate in the ongoing discussions. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is for every man, woman and child who, at the prompting of the Holy Spirit, willing examines self and realizes the condition of their position.

All who believe in and submit to the authority of Jesus Christ, be they church sojourners or members of a local church, are of the same blood-cleansing. We each have one and the same calling:

  • Spread the Good News
  • Live with Christian Character
  • Love one another, each and all
  • AND Love the Lord our God with all that is within us.

But remember: Salvation is never purely emotional nor even is it purely spiritual. In Matthew 22:36-40, men asked Jesus to reveal the great commandment in the law. When answering, Jesus did a strange and unusual thing: He quoted scripture and then He added to it. Verse thirty-seven reads as follows:

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”

Do you see that little word at the end: “mind.” This word is not used in the OT. Yet the words of Christ make clear one simple truth. Heart is the spirit of a man. Soul is the emotions of a man. And mind is the affirmation of a conscious decision. Thus we comprehend that in changing the words Jesus is expounding a deeper meaning from the original content. To Jesus, the term “might” implies all that we are including our mind.

If you are already saved, I share praise with you. If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior, please contact me with your questions or comments.

Being a church sojourner need not be a difficult walk. In deed, it can be an exciting and fulfilling journey into a broader Christian walk of spiritual leadership and Christian character. It offers the unique experiences typically associated with evangelism as well as distinctive options for where your work for Jesus is best focused. Being a church sojourner does not mean that you reject church-based fellowship.
